TIME IS THE CURRENCY OF OUR LIVES

Being overloaded has been the theme of this week - the question is it really a fact or your perception.

Everyone has the same amount of time - the beggar outside Trump tower has the same amount of time as Donald Trump has, so why does Donald acheive more.
Well here is one gem a board meeting NEVER goes more than 2 hours - if a multi billion $$$ business can do that what are we doing ?

Let's take a look at our very own KLR Marketers -The Relaxed KLR Marketer has ridden over 800 kms on his bike this week training and still did everything he needed to get done this week.

An excited Low Stress Stockhandler rang this week to confirm the saying "It will take all the time it takes but it will be quicker with a better result" - he went from handling his stock on the bike (the bike is ok - he just is prone to forget to pay more attention) to handling them on foot - this resulted in an increase in weight gain of 0.25 kg / day.

He is a backgrounder so he knows his weights - that is $182 extra in his pocket per animal per year or $91,000 per year extra for his 500 head.

Another Low Stress Handling couple I was lucky enough to spend time with this week, when asked if it had changed the way they worked animals- the answer :

It's embarrasing how difficult and time comsuming we used to make it.By lunch we weren't talking and still had an afternoons work to do.Now we find it so relaxing yet we can have a day's work done by lunch time".

The most common thing I hear is "I am going to .............. as soon as I get time"

Say what you are going to do and MEAN IT, be your word.

When I said I was going to blog 5 days a week I did not start and then a couple weeks later say"oh boy I don't have time for this !!"

I somehow find the time every day to post - albeit sometimes brief.Technology has let me down on occassion.

Here is a neat video for you :

IS THE ECONOMY OVERLOADED ?

When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?

— John Maynard Keynes, British economist (1883–1946),

His reply to a criticism during the Great Depression of having changed his position on monetary policy, as quoted in Lost Prophets: An Insider's History of the Modern Economists (1994) by Alfred L. Malabre, p 220

Jim Puplava author of www.financialsense.com has written a rather in depth article which I believe you need to read so as to be informed of another veiw.

There is so much talk about Green shoots in the world economy - the share market rallying - recession is over - (here is Aust one could wonder if there was one ?).

I read an article last week written by an exfarmer who is now a broker for 13 years, he said

"When Green shoots appear in the spring we can be hopeful of a good season, but when green shoots appear in the midst of winter - they have given hope to the desperate only to be bitten by the winter frost"

With the USA Outstanding Public Debt as of 29 Jul 2009 at 10:19:05 AM GMT is:

The estimated population of the United States is 306,635,638 so each citizen's share of this debt is $37,874.52.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of$3.89 billion per day since September 28, 2007!
With a predicted budget deficit of $1.841 Trillion the USA is not going to turn this around and when it does how in the hell are they going to deal with inflation ?

I do not know if we are in the spring of recovery - you only have to speak to your circle of people in the workforce to know downsizing is happening. Just yesterday a gentleman from Mildura told me when he calls someone looking for work -it is though he swore at them.

So keeping with last nights theme we have an overload of debt in the world that govts must recover at some point. Now this is not all negative because as I said opportunities open up when one takes stock of the situation - if you have a business then look for opportunities to decrease costs and increase cashflow.
If you are one of my many wage earner readers - start a business and take control of your destiny.
Don't know how ?
Give me a call or email me and I'll point you in the right direction.

HOW OVERLOADED IS YOUR LIFE ?

Are you feeling like you are overloaded ? If you take a look at the pictures in the slideshow below one would have to say you are not even having a go !!

However there is a difference between what is physically happening and "Feeeling Overloaded".
Stress is an amazing word in today's society, to think that we can get stressed when almost everybody has everything they need to sustain life - Good food,Plenty of Water, A House,Great schools, hospitals and the opportunity to create anything with nothing more than an idea.

One should have had reason for stress a while ago when one's partner sent us out of the cave to kill a dinasoar for dinner with nothing more than a club.

Overloading ourselves can lead to all sorts of challenges including our own health, the relationships with those around us, the livestock's health. As humans we tend to always want more and so strive for the bigger house, car or boat.
Up until now the last few years have been "We can have it all". Now that the recession is starting to bite a few people around me in the traditional "JOB" are finding them selves downsized, less hours, less pay - able to afford less.
Some people can get caught in the victim mentality beleiving it someone else's fault.
As Bud Williams said to me once :

"Everybody has to have a little misery in their life, but Why some people they just gotta go out and buy some more !!"

My motto is there is always an opportunity and an option - in fact there are more opportunity's around every day, you just gotta be open and looking.
Don't Overload yourself mentally - Overloading physically must be ok -take alook at the happy overloaded people in these pictures !!

2 AUSSIE LARIKINS IN TOP 10 IN MANCHESTER

Bruce Ward and Tony Lovell have recently travelled to the old mother country to participate in the Manchester Report.Congratulation goes to 2 guy's who are passionate about rural Australia and the resources we have to turn around the loss of soil carbon.

They have been selected in the final 10 and would appreciate your vote as they are the only ones dealing with future and past emissions.

Here is Bruce's email - complete with link to vote and a short video link at the bottom of Tony :

When I sent the last [ASK] out, I was on the point of departing for Manchester, in the UK, to participate in the Guardian Newspaper's "Manchester Report". Here is my report, and a request for you to support our efforts. I also want to acknowledge the great number of emails I received wishing us luck. They were very much appreciated.
Over the weekend of July 4 and 5, twenty finalists (including Tony Lovell and myself), made 30 minute presentations to a panel of four judges. We introduced Soil Carbon to the panel and the audience.
The panel was led by Lord Bingham, the former Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, Bryony Worthington, an advisor and policy expert on climate change to the British Government, Dan Reicher, a Californian based and most interesting director of Google, and Chris Goodall, author of several major books on climate change and a freelance journalist.
Tony made the actual presentation, which was enthusiastically received by the audience of more than 300 people, and by the panel.

You can see a 1-minute grab summarising our presentation by going to

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/jul/13/manchester-report-grasslands

Over the last week the panel has met and boiled the 20 presentations down to a final list of 10. We are one of those!!
Now there is a public vote

VOTE FOR
Regenerating grasslands

You can see the finalists AND VOTE at

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/poll/2009/jul/08/manchester-report-poll

Whilst there, can you pop in a vote for us, please? That would be very much appreciated as we were the only ones dealing with both past and future emissions. All other finalists are dealing with technological solutions to reduce future emissions, or on the social aspects of the problem.
You can read more about the other nine finalists, and the 10 presentations that did not make the final list, by Googling "Manchester Report". There are stories and 1-minute clips for all 20 of the presentations. Be prepared to toggle to the 2nd and 3rd Google pages to find them all, so be patient!

Thankyou so much for your help in this regard. It is very much appreciated.

Why did we do this - and why was it important?

Tony and I are seriously concerned that most people throughout the world are totally unaware of the need for farmers to move from being 'part of the problem' to become recognised as a vital 'part of the solution'. Soil Carbon provides that opportunity, so long as policy makers allow it. Time is running short, and Copenhagen is not far away.

The die will be cast one way or the other at that time, and we want it to be cast the right way. We may need more science before we get the detail right, but it is clear that the science can now be done. That is a major step forward from only 2 years ago when we were consistently told it could not be done.
There will be another [ASK] in the near future - I am inspired to write again!
Bruce Ward

But you know me there is always another one around to get the blog up.This is a short and sweet ditty of a song writen and produced by a guy who watched out the plane window as the baggage handlers broke his guitar.United airlines would not come to the party to compensate him until this song went up on You Tube.(a little later don't you think.)

FRIDAY MUSIC - MICHAEL JACKSON - ONE & ONLY

Friday is music day around here and this week we feature the one and only Michael Jackson. Now I have never been a devoted fan, but my son Brad beat me about the ears for neglecting to feature one of the most influentual musicians of all time.

Background information
Birth name : Michael Joseph Jackson
Born : August 29, 1958(1958-08-29)Gary, Indiana, U.S.
Died : June 25, 2009 (aged 50)Los Angeles, California, U.S.

Years active : 1964–2009

According to Wikipedia :

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009), often dubbed the "King of Pop," was an American recording artist, widely regarded as one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived. With his trademark black fedora and single, sequinned glove, his unique contributions to music and dance, along with a highly publicized personal life, made him a central part of popular culture around the world for four decades.
One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his achievements included multiple Guinness World Records—including the "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles, and the sale of over 750 million records. He was also a notable philanthropist, donating millions of dollars to the 39 charities he supported, and raising more through his own Heal the World Foundation.

ROD'S SUPPLEMENT TRAILER

Rod Knight made what could be a small house for his feed/ supplement trailer.

There has been much interest in Rod's supplement trailer, probably the most elaborate supplement trailer on the planet. When he wants to go camping he can take out the tubs, install a matress and barbecue and he will be high and dry !!

They seem to have liking for Salt and Seaweed Meal not taking as much Urea as Rod would like.
Coarse Salt
Flossy Salt
Powdered sulphur
Dolomite
Lime
Phosphourus
Copper Sulphate
Sea weed meal
Urea
Pat Colby has a mix Rod is considering
8 lb Sulphur
50 lb Dolomite
8 lb Copper Sulphate
8 lb Urea Free Sea weed Meal

Many KLR people have asked about Rod's Trailer so below is a short video I created for you.

[ASK] BRUCE WARD'S RECENT NEWSLETTER

[ASK] Always Seeking Knowledge is a newsletter written by Bruce Ward from "The Farm Business Gym". Bruce has been teaching & mentoring holistic management to producers in Australia and New Zealand for longer than I can remember.
In Bruce's recent newsletter he highlights the NEWS is finally getting to Canberra what constitutes good land husbandry and the future sustainability of rural families.
Here is an exerpt and link to his recent newsletter :
There are two items that I think will interest and excite you, as they have me.
Firstly, on June 17 this year, Drs. Joern Fisher and Kate Sherrin, from the Fenner Institute at Australian National University appeared before the Primary Industries and Resources Sub-Committee of the House of Representaives in Canberra.
The Sub-Committee's task is to report to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, The Hon Tony Burke MP, on the role of government in assisting Australian farmers to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
They had been asked to appear before the Sub-Committee to advise specifically about Holistic Managementtm. Dr Fisher came across Holistic Management when doing some research on biodiversity in the Central West of NSW.
What first excited him was the realisation that when management changes, for many people trees often regenerate naturally. At the same time he realised that families were tending to be happier. Dr Sherrin is studying the social aspects of Holistic Management.

IS THIS THE DREAM JOB ON EARTH ??

What a crazy week, Sydney to Roma - 2 Day KLR Marketing school- 1 Day Unleash Your Marketing Genius workshop and home to Bathurst tonight.
All this with no internet working for me so hence no blogs this week.
We had a great group of 65 mainly Queenslanders at the KLR school and 41 with Mick Cornish on Wednesday.
I will put together more info next week when sanity returns.
Meanwhile here is something that gave us a laugh when we were walking to dinner in Roma last night.
We walked past a shop called "REX FURNISHERS" - looked in the window and here is a Blue Healer guarding the shop just like a good old junk yard dog !!
By the time I had my phone to take a photo he was walking away - you can see him below.
We wondered what a deam job that might be for a dog - get to choose the bed you sleep in.
We then wondered does the dog own the shop - I mean "Rex Furnishers " sounds like a dogs name to me.

Is this the dream job on earth for a dog ?
Music tomorrow night and normality next week I hope.
