Roma KLR School

We are on our last day at Roma where over 40 people attended the KLR Marketing school from Qld and NSW.

Jim Lindsay,Roda Knight and myself were in attendance. Thanks to Chook Kealey who came up from Walcha to coach the group and Elizabeth who made sure everyone was fed and watered.

High Stock Density gets Results

We have travelled down south to Westwood (west of Rockhampton) for the weekend.Amazing how with some good management of grass and Luekina (how do you spell that ?) the numbers of LSU days you can pull out per hectare.

As we drove south from Charters Towers the grass never changed 3 feet high and as thick as you could stick.

We are in Roma now for the KLR school tomorrow.

Charters Towers KLR School

Charters Towers is 1st stop on our Qld trip with KLR Marketing. 54 people from North Qld spent 2 days at the KLR Marketing school, with 25 coming back for the "Putting KLR to Work" coaching day. It was great to see so many young couples attend as well as meet some familiar faces like James & Ardie Lord.Mastermind members Mike & Maureen Borello and John & Verna Webb came back for a refresher.
We spent the morning at the coaching day going into the process of working through the Business Analyser and Breeder calculators.
Heading south today towards Roma for next weeks KLR school plus Coaching day.

Grahame chats with Bill Croll on Stockhandling

Every now and then you come across someone who has something to say that is worth listening to, Bill Croll works with his brother Murray of National Stockyards Systems as well as owning and managing several livestock enterprises.
Bill was telling me one of the most impactful 2 days of his life was attending a Bud Williams Stockhandling school in 2002 at Tamworth.

So I took the opportunity to have a chat with Bill when we were together recently filming the features of the National Stockyards Systems.We worked animals through various systems including a "Bud Pen", demonstrating Low Stress Stockhandling.

Congratulations to Clare McDonald 2010 The Land Royal Easter Show Girl. I first met Clare a few years ago when she was still in year 11 at school and came along to a Low Stress Stockhandling school. Clare's passion for agriculture was clear back then - I could not think of a more deserving person to represent young people in agriculture - Well done Clare.
