Nothing has Changed since Julia Caesar

Wow !! They say a week is a long time in politics, after this week I guess 12 hours is a long time in politics.
No matter what side of politics you follow it is a significant part of Australian history to have our 1st woman Prime Minister. I am not a Julia fan but I think she will prove to be a formidable Prime Minister who will be a tough ask for the opponent's to pulldown.
Anyway I thought I would find an appropriate video for this weeks Canberra scenes - what better than an animation made by some year 11 students of the murder of Julies Caesar.

Australian of the Year to Deliver Petition Tomorrow

This must be my one week I allowing myself to be political on the blog but when the people who are employed to advise govt resign you have to ask : What the ????? is going on ?

The Government's head advisor on mental health, Prof. John Mendoza, has just resigned, saying that the Government is ignoring the need for mental health reform. He says that only public pressure will move politicians, and is aiming to collect 60,000 public signatures on a petition to be delivered to Parliament this Thursday.

K Rudd will not accept the petition !!

Here is part of the letter John wrote :

Dear friends,

On Friday I resigned my position as the head advisor to the Rudd Government on mental health. And it's because of stories like Mary's and my frustration over the Government's failure to do more to prevent them.

So, today I'm taking the unusual step of writing to you through GetUp to ask you to sign this petition, because I've come to the regrettable conclusion that my advice was not getting through - only public pressure will spur politicians into action.

Every day 330 Australians with serious mental illnesses are turned away from Emergency Departments, and 1,200 Australians are refused admission to a public or private psychiatric unit.

Every day more than 7 people die as a result of suicide, and more than a third of those have been discharged too early or without care from hospitals. For each of those 7 Australians, there are 7 families who mourn them, 7 groups of friends who ask themselves, 'why?'

And every day our political leaders fail to take action, this crisis worsens. This petition will be presented at Parliament House on Thursday - please add your name now through the GetUp website below:

On Thursday, I and over 60 mental health organisations from across Australia intend to present a letter to Kevin Rudd with a plan of action for mental health. But so far, the Prime Minister has declined to receive it, and so too has the Health Minister, Nicola Roxon.

Who the Hell is Running this Country ?

Well it seems our government has a different term for undercover tactics - they call it Tax Reform. It is obscene what these so called leaders are doing. Wealth creation was never something createdd by governments and it seems they want to drive any idea that it is good for business's to make a profit above the Government Bod rate.

I recently listened to a staff member of treasury interviewed - when he was questioned on how they knew what was best for the country - He Said something like :

"I find that offensive, you must realise we recruit people with the best IQ 's in the country, they know more than the average Joe what is best for Australia."

With people like that in the public service we are stuffed regardless of who is in government.

A super-profits tax should be rolled out for all companies in Australia as a long-term reform.
Treasury secretary Ken Henry says the tax would be similar to the model proposed for mining groups.

Companies would be able to earn up to the government bond rate tax-free, but would then pay a heavier tax on "super-profits" above that level -- although less than the 40 per cent mining tax.

I sure would not like to be in BP's shoes,even though it may have been an accident, the USA govt is intent on making them pay. Kinda funny when you think about it - USA being the biggest user of oil.

Loading a Truck using Bud Pen is Easy

One of the things I have been doing lately is learning a lot more about video on the web. It is an uncharted area in many ways even though youtube etc have been around for a while.
There are many stages where ou need to get it right from the camera to the editing,rendering,uploading and hosting players. One project is for National Stockyards Systems - http://www.nationalstockyards.com.au/ where we filmed the project and now are trying to get the right format.
The video below is me showing how the "Bud Pen" works loading a truck - I would be interested in your feedback,mainly on how long it took to buffer before playing and once playing did it stop or keep playing. Also comment on the quality - something has to be sacrificed and it is getting a balance. So pleeeaase email me with your feedback.

4 Year old Katie shows how to do LSS

It has been an interesting couple of months, travelling nearly 10,000 kms, running 3 KLR schools and 3 LSS schools in Qld and NSW. Over 180 people attended the KLR school and 70 attended LSS schools. Travelling to new places and meeting new people is always a highlight and a pleasure.

We ran a LSS school at John and Rana Manns property, "Dijoe", Cobar where we had a special couple of days with everyone camping overnight. This is always a great thing as it allows a lot of sharing and networking in a community group.
Ben Hooper from "Clear Vision Imaging" came along and took quite a bit of video - here is a sample.

Rod made some great points in this weeks newsletter - Here is my 2 bob's worth - I listened to an audio today with T.harv Eker where he was speaking about how we are imprinted at a young age the belief we have around how much money we can make and keep.

I want to take just one point that is relevant here - we create what we think about.
If you think there are no trades out there you will look at the 30 second market reports, run the figures through the spreadsheet, talk to the agent and come to the conclusion - My animals are not Overpriced and there are no Underpriced animals to buy. Arggh this KLR stuff doesn't work, I''ll call a mate and see what he thinks the market is going to do and if he can find a trade - nope he is getting the same answer.

Now that would be all well and good, except there are several KLR Mastermind members I am aware of that are up to their 3rd trade for the year - seeking thier 4th. What's different ?
Well it is certainly to do with the thinking going on. Now boy's don't be suprised but it is the girls who are going like steam - I have become aware of several girls who are trading like magic.
Why ? Well I hope to get them to share soon. C'mon girls you know who you are - leave some tips for the boy''s.
Here is a tip " They are taking action, going to the sale and having the courage to follow through with their convictions.

On the Road Again - 3 LSS schools

Last month it was back to Low Stress Stockhandling at Gladstone,Gunnedah and Cobar -

Last week we were privaliged to be guests of Rana & John Manns and their family - Simonne, Todd, Emily and Ethan. Thanks to Leah Arnold who did a great job of putting the school together.

Always good to get back to the Western Division, meet up with some old faces I hadn't seen for a few years.We were able to work goats,cattle and sheep and even though it rained we kept our powder dry.
