TED KENNEDY - AN AMAZING MAN

Ted Kennedy 1962 – 2009
This past week saw the last of the 3 Kennedy brothers pass away - I guess I had not thought much about it until I watched the funeral and various story's about Ted over the weekend. It caused me to reflect back and remember John F Kennedy's assasination was one of my very 1st memory's. I distinctly remember seeing the photo of his family on womens weekly at age 5 never quite understanding what everyone was talking about - JFK 's been shot.
Ted Kennedy lived on through tragedy of losing 2 brothers this way, as well as many other challenges. Two of his children had cancer, Teddy junior lost his leg to this.As well as the amazing public life he lead he always had time for his children and the children of his brothers, 13 in all.
He cared about everybody - he could be negotiating an arms deal in the morning and talking to a mother who had a sick child in the afternoon. After 9/11 he called more than once every single family in his state that had lost a family member.
Over the next 2 nights I am going to feature 2 videos - the 1st being Ted Kennedy junior speaking about his father at the funeral and tomorrow night President Obama delivering the Eulogy.

WHAT DRIVES THE MARKET -SENTIMENT or FUNDAMENTAL

As I prepare the final "Golf in Dubai Steers" post and video I thought it would be good to dicuss these 2 words Fundamental and Sentiment. Understanding these 2 words has made for me a real difference in the way I understand markets.
Let's first get the definition :
Fundamental : being or involving basic facts or principles.
Sentiment : A thought prompted by passion or feeling; a state of mind in view of some subject; feeling toward or respecting some person or thing; disposition prompting to action or expression.

So now we know the meaning it can help us understand how both fundamentals and sentiment drive markets. Let's use the share market as an example then equate that to the livestock market.

The share market is driven by both Fundamental and Sentiment.
Fundamental is things like:
Is the company making money EBIT?
Are they paying dividends ?
Is the Price to Earnings ratio P/E within the parameters for that sector ?
Is management growing the business ?
Is the market for the products growing or falling ?
All information one can obtain to understand the Fundamentals of a company or industry.

Now on the other hand Sentiment is the emotion out there in the market and tends to overshoot on both the upside and the downside. Emotions of Fear and Greed drive market sentiment as people jossle to get it right.

Both Fundamental's and Sentiment are important when you are looking at the market.
Let's look at the last 2 falls in the share market - 9/11 the market crashed based on sentiment - the fundamentals allowed it to recover within a month - this last crash was led by fundamentals where banks and company's were going broke - serious financial strife for a lot of company's.
The sentiment drove the market down to silly levels based on fear, so you saw CBA(Commonwealth Bank) at $24 with a dividend yield much higher than bank interest about 11% at the time. Fundamentals took over and yesterday CBA closed at $44.75 ,83 % gain not a bad return from 23 January until 28th August. I will remind you of this when we look at the investment in "Golf in Dubai "steers exactly same time period.
Now even though the world has serious financial hurdles ahead the sentiment is back in charge and we are seeing share markets trending up.
This will be a tug of war for quite a while as Fundamental's and Sentiment opose each other.

So how does this apply to the livestock market - well the fundamentals for cattle last year dropped significantly as offal and hides became worthless yet the restocker market remained strong for quite a period. The bigest driver of livestock markets is sentiment as producers bet on a rain event.Right now market fundamentals for sheep and cattle is really good but market sentiment is down because it may remain dry.

Knowing all this can be to your advantage - in both the share market or livestock market fluctuations in sentiment will provide many trading opportunities. If you have grass & money in your inventory (fundamental) when every one is desperate for rain the market sentiment will provide very profitable opportunities. When there is lots of grass and you have lots of animals in your inventory your animals may become overpriced due to sentiment so again opportunity.

The weaners sales early in the year are driven by sentiment - a market view it is going to be good in the spring.
Well next week let's see what has happened to the "Golf in Dubai" steers after 7 months - now sitting at 480kg.

Any thoughts on this email me at : peneena@gmail.com

EMOTIONS KEEP US IN OUR COMFORT ZONE

It seems blogger is having some challenges tonight which makes it a challenge to put up tonights post so let's see how we go.
Last night I posted about emotions and how one feels each time we get out of our comfort zone.
I think a lot of people like to work hard at making sure they never get out of their comfort zone. What do I mean by that ?
I have learnt many moons ago that by avoiding something that creates fear and leaves me uncomfortable now will leave me feeling this way every time the same situation comes up.
So everytime (well most of the time) I have felt fear about something new I have recognised that and "Felt the Fear and done it Anyway"
As we teach in the LSS schools when one see's getting out of their comfort zone into what we call the learning zone - that is Living life as it should be lived.
Working with Mick Cornish has given me a great tool to work through this process -
Imagine there is an invisible door so solid you cannot get to the other side - you know if you do life will be better and you will have broken through - you have a choice either walk away and distract yourself or take a deep breath and step through the door - you see it was only solid in your mind.
Once you take that step you can turn around and say there is no blood, I'm not hurt and what was all that about anyway ???

Take a risk go for what you want 110% - be diligent -be focussed and be uncomfortable.
There was some great feedback last night so here is my email again if you want to contact me

EMOTIONS CAN BRING OUT THE BEST AND WORST IN US

I have just spent the last 3 days with my Options Trading mentor and it has been very eye opening for me the emotions we go through when we are challenged as we learn something new.

Those of you who are KLR graduates or gratuates of any training program will know what I mean.

Let me give you some examples to show what I mean :

  • My mentor and his support staff are available anytime during work hours to answer questions ,coach and walk you through even what I may think is a silly question.

  • My mentor makes training available 4 times a week to attend online training where he will stay online for up to hours until all questions are answered.

  • Plus more.

Now here is the emotions :

"I don't want to interupt him he might be busy"

"I am sure that question is a silly question, I couldn't call about that"

"I am not sure if I can be successful at this like him/her.

"I'll just put my books on the shelf and get back to it when the time is right"

I could go on and on about this, interestingly enough my main emotion as I go through this program

" Can I remain focussed on learning to be a more successful Options Trader until I am one"

That means doing the work required, spending the time required to learn the strategy's both paper trading and live trading- making this my priority until it becomes 2nd nature.

Now I am sharing this because all of the above is relevant to the KLR graduate when they go back home.

We provide support by phone or email and in some cases personally,we provide coaching and mentoring calls - yet only a small % of people ever follow through.

By all means if you learn something new and it is not your cup of tea -fine find something else.

However if you saw the possibility of what you learnt at KLR being able to increase your prosperity and quality of life then you need to consider the committment you make to yourself.

Do whatever it takes until you reach your goal !!

Can you focus on being a successful KLR Marketer until you are one ?

As I go along on this journey I will share many things because the emotions for me learning new programs is just the same for you.

NAPOLIAN HILL SPEAKS ABOUT THE MASTERMIND

As we close this topic of Masterminding, it is important to remember the greatest ideas amount to nothing if they are not implemented. Read the last 2 strategies then watch the video of Napolian Hill author of "Think and Grow Rich" , speaking about the Mastermind alliance.
Strategy 7:
Everyone should provide leadership.

A Mastermind group without effective, trained, strong and caring leadership will rarely last. Getting people to Mastermind effectively over a long time is no easy thing. People come with their own idea of what should happen, when and who should do it. Without a trained leader to control and bring out the best in people the group has little chance of success.

If a leader can't control the group, can't keep the discussions lively, keep them on track and assist in following the process, the whole group suffers.

Strategy 8:
Everything at your Mastermind meetings should be goal and action orientated
.

We have seen some Masterminding that could best be described as "Mastersmooching". It was a big "love in". They discussed everything under the sun. They spoke of their commitment to each other. They contemplated the things of the universe. They discussed esoteric philosophies until the cows came home.

Masterminding without action and follow-up is useless and a terrible time waster.

Val Van DerWall says,

"You have learned nothing until you have a
permanent change in results."
Napolian Hill speaks about the Mastermind principle.

DEMAND A STRONG COMMITTMENT

The next 2 strategies are key to the success of a Mastermind group - I see many groups start up and fizzle as soon as the sizzle is gone. That is the time you must persist, roll up your sleeves and follow through with your committment.
Understanding the different personalities can help to find who is the best to organise the group, who is best to keep the group on track.Being creative and meeting in different environments away from home will assist the group to focus without distractions.
So here is straegies 5 and 6 :

Strategy 5:
Demand a strong commitment.

Another key strategy to make the Mastermind work effectively and will ensure sure disaster if it is not present is commitment. If people are not committed to the process, to growth, to success, to giving, to the group itself, they quickly abandon the group.

We have seen this happen often. People join a group without the proper commitment, they don't become millionaires in the first 3 months, and quit. They are hurting themselves more than they could ever hurt a properly working Mastermind group. They are developing a habit called, "I'm a quitter." It can be a tough one to break.

Strategy 6:
Organize your Mastermind meetings.

If Masterminding is to work over the long haul it must employ an organized approach. I have seen so many, well-intentioned individuals start groups then they would so quickly fizzle away.

If someone missed a meeting or two, or if the group, through disorganization, cancelled a meeting, it almost inevitably spelt disaster for the group.

People meet regularly according to a pre-determined schedule. They follow an agenda set by the leader. The Masterminding session is conducted in an orderly manner following a process that everyone is familiar with. Only one person speaks at a time. They follow an organized, well thought out approach. It's almost as if the organizational strength makes up for individual weaknesses.

MASTERMIND STRATEGIES 2 -4

This week we continue with our Mastermind theme. Tonight I share 3 strategies to assist you to create a successful Mastermind.

Strategy 4 Give vs Get mentality is an important point to be reminded of.

The recent release of the journalists from North Korea was acheived by Bill Clinton, not because he was a good negotiator rather because he sent a simple condolence card to the Korean President when his wife passed away years ago and that was enough to allow dialogue to commence. Back to GRATITUDE !!

Strategy 2:

Create a list of traits or characteristics of the ideal Mastermind partner.

Consider what the ideal Mastermind partner should be like. Think about skills, character traits, experience, and attitude. What do you think should be the criteria for your Mastermind group? What type of person are you going to look for? Then evaluate the people on the list above according to this list.

Strategy 3:

Call them up and invite them to your first Mastermind meeting. Set a time and location and begin.

Don't waste any time. Find a time and location and begin the work of Masterminding your success. Tell the people that you are part of The Money Mastery System and you would like to meet with them to discuss their participation in this group. Explain the purpose of it and the commitment required.

At the first meeting you might want to read this lesson or cover pertinent points from it. The point here is that you begin to act on this information. You need a support system and this group will play an important role.

Of course, finish reading this lesson before you actually have your first meeting.

Strategy 4:

Insist on a Give versus Get mentality within your Mastermind group.

To come to a Mastermind group expecting to "get" is one of the surest ways to kill the energy of proper Masterminding. What's so ironic today however is that the notion of belonging to some group solely to help others is so foreign to us. We are into W.I.I.F.M. (What's In It for Me) and R.O.I. (Return on Investment).

Just stop and consider the opposite for a minute. It is the most beautiful and powerful concept for personal and professional growth available today. A group of people who sincerely intend and actually are committed to doing whatever they can to assist in your success, looking for nothing in return.

This one of the most fundamental aspects of what we try to cultivate. "Come looking to help the people at your table." Imagine everyone's energy devoted to assisting and supporting your success. Everyone committed, everyone giving.

We tell people to stop thinking about themselves and what they can get. Instead we re-focus on giving. The universal law of sowing and reaping states that....
You can't outgive God! Just keep helping others.

WOULD YOU ACCEPT 5,200% ROC/ YEAR ?

We interupt this session on Masterminding to a KLR News Flash.

I was speaking with the diligent KLR Marketer today on many things and he shared with me a trade that blew the KLR Profit calculator.

Remember how we talk about making a 1 % gain per day or making 1 cent a day on a loaf of bread at the school ? Some of you may have thought that is not possible.

To keep his identity I won't reveal the person or the selling centre - but picture this :

Sell Money and Grass to Buy Underpriced steers with a plan to take home for several months if necessary.

In less than 24 hours while they are still being held for a truck - a small farmer gets chatting to the Diligent KLR Marketer and decides he would like some cattle just like that.

So the Diligent KLR Marketer does his sums to work out a price that would have them still around the market price on the day - Overpriced Steers - puts that to the farmer, who is pleased and accepts the price, He Sells Overpriced Steers and buys back Money and Grass for another day.
Now let me be clear the Diligent KLR Marketer sold them at a price the was Overpriced for him - For the Farmer they were Underpriced compared to what he saw in general at that sale.

Good marketing is not about Bargaining - What is Overpriced for one person could be Underpriced for another - Hence Bud's Quote "I will Sell for Less".

There was zero cost -( well maybe the coffee and pie in the canteen) to this trade, not even agents commission.Despite this the agent lectured on the merits of "Doing a Job on Them" and getting more$$$$.

Would you turn down a return of 10% or 5,200% ROC / Annum ?

The diligent KLR Marketer now knows this KLR Marketing is not about putting on weight, rather Selling Overpriced and buying Underpriced Today.

Do that trade even once a week one could cope with a 520% return.Annum.
There is also a great comment by Rob Heibert from Canada about the profitabilty of Cattle there after I sent him an article about a fellow over there who received $10,000 for his calves that he had fed $20,000 worth of feed.

We will continue the Mastermind discussion next week.

Carefully choose 6 to 8 like-minded people to .......

Napolian Hill Author of "Think andGrow Rich"
Whilst Masterminding has been happening for thousands of years, it was Napolian Hill who wrote about how all the worlds richest men used the mastermind process.
It was Napoleon Hill who said...

"The accumulation of great fortunes call for power, and power is acquired through highly organized and intelligently directed, specialized knowledge, but that knowledge does not necessarily have to be in the possession of the person who accumulates the fortune."
Resource Consulting Services (RCS) first introduced this process into Australian Agriculture, facilitating several rural business's to meet as a mastermind 3 times per year.
It's like joining several batteries together and watching the power of all of them create more power than the total energy they could bring individually. What happens can be truly amazing.
There are 8 Strategies to a successful Mastermind I will reveal over the next week :
Strategy 1:
Carefully choose 6 to 8 like-minded people to become part of your Mastermind group.

Choose The People Carefully

The people you associate with are very important. They will influence you. If you are going to spend time Masterminding, be certain that the people you associate with have similar values and aspirations.

I would never be in a Mastermind group, for example, with someone who repeatedly publicly ridiculed or spoke harshly about someone who wasn't present. What assurance would I have that they wouldn't do exactly the same when I wasn't present?

Associate with people in a Mastermind situation who believe in the power of Masterminding. A certain degree of belief in the process is vital. A skeptic who investigates is one thing, skeptics who bring the group down is another.
When a big objective is presented to the group, you want people around that table who are not going to be blown away. Not that they have to solve the objective themselves, Masterminding is just the opposite. But you want people who are going to play a willing part regardless. They should do so because they are sold on the concept.

Another element I look for in the people I Mastermind with is what I call the growth factor. Are they here to "get" or to "grow"? Education, "drawing from within" or enhancing our awareness is vital. Be around people who are involved in a process of continual personal development.

A Mastermind group meets weekly but there is no magic number; bi-weekly and monthly works well too. Make a short list below of people you consider compatible and people who also want to master money and want to become wealthier.
Ask them to commit to becoming part of your Mastermind group. The meetings can take anywhere from one to three hours. It is a serious commitment, so only include people who you think are serious and growth orientated. You might not ask all the people on this list but start thinking about some possible people. It will be a mutually beneficial relationship.

WHAT DO THESE THREE GUY'S HAVE IN COMMON ?

What do these three guy's have in common ?
Thomas Edison
Harvey Firestone
Henry Ford
They were great friends and one of the things they did together is go off into the woods for
1 week each year to Meditate and Mastermind.
At the time it was said Henry Ford could put together 1 $$Billion in one week if necessary. When Thomas Edison's laboratory burnt down Henry went to him next morning and said
"Here is $500,000 rebuild it!!"
The KLR Mastermind is a network of over 260 people who's collective energy could create anything they desire - if they put their mind to it.
Some members have started a small group that hold a teleconference each week.
Who is in your Mastermind -Consider starting a small group.
Over the next week or so I am going to post more on this subject, in the meantime here is
a little about Masterminding.
What is Masterminding?

Masterminding is an effective tool used throughout the centuries to bring about solutions to challenges, problems, goal-achieving and creative brainstorming.

Masterminding is what happens when several people, in a spirit of harmony, tap into a creative source far more than the collective power of the ones present. Masterminding is the power of plugging each into each other then watching the collective units create many more solutions than they ever could on their own.

If I work on a goal or challenge by myself, I have certain degree of creative power to solve what needs solving. If I then ask you to join me and apply your creative power to bear on my goal or challenge, then we feel there is more than just the power of the two of us now -- it's like the Mastermind takes over. It's no longer two, it's more like the power of eleven.

When you take a burning candle and touch the flame of another candle, the power of the two together is so much brighter than the two operating singularly.

Let's say someone is a fishing enthusiast; no let's say he's a "fishing nut". This guy is fishing every weekend at sunrise. He has 3 tackle boxes, a great fishing boat, and all the equipment one could imagine. He decides to turn his fishing hobby into a small business.
If he's never done it before he wouldn't necessarily know what to do, how to do it or in many cases even where to begin. It is unlikely he would know how to market his services, what tax breaks are available, how to get financing, etc.

Here is where a Mastermind group could really come in handy. This person asks their group to assist him by Masterminding one of several, well thought out objectives. Since everyone in the Mastermind group is there to serve and give unconditionally to the other people in the group, they willingly apply themselves to solving his objectives.

Let's say the objective is "to turn my fishing hobby into a profitable business generating $600 profit per month within the next six months."
Having a clear picture of what he wants, the Mastermind group could then provide him with marketing knowledge, specific contacts for clients or suppliers or partners. They might come up with a myriad of things the person hasn't even thought about.
He probably never thought about it because he has never traveled the journey of the person giving the advice. That's the beauty of Masterminding. You get ideas, solutions and contacts you could never in a million years have come up with if you were working on it alone.

TURNING YOU WORLD UPSIDE DOWN TO GET A RESULT

Several years ago NASA conducted an experiment that some of you may have heard or read about. They were preparing to send astronauts into space and they wanted to find out the long-term effects of disorientation upon the human brain, mind and body.

NASA placed on several subjects, goggles or glasses that had convex lenses which turned everything that they saw upside-down! They had to wear these goggles for several weeks and attempt to function "normally" under those conditions! Eating, reading, working, everything! Upside-down! NASA was looking to see if it would cause nausea, high blood-pressure, whatever!

But after about 3-4 weeks something startling and amazing happened! One by one the subjects, while still wearing the upside-down glasses, started to see things right-side up! Their brains were rewiring, and adjusting to the view! Their brain was rewiring and turning a lie (upside-down) into the truth (right-side up)!!

This has now become the basis of "Neural Reconditioning" where over 25 -30 days you input a new way of concious thinking for the Sub concious brain to accept and adjust to this new information.

Those of you who are KLR graduates will know that you will never hear Jim, Rod or I say Buy and Sell something - always Sell /Buy. You will never hear us say animals are Cheap or Dear always Overpriced and Underpriced.

Did we naturally do that ? Well of course not but Bud had instilled in us the understanding that if we do not get our self talk right it will screw up our thinking.
When you understand everything is Sell/Buy and you have been doing it all your life even before KLR and you are still doing it.It is just some of you are labelling it incorrectly.

As Bud says"When you were a little boy and you Smiled at your Grandad and he gave you 50 cents- that was when you started Sell / Buy - you sold a smile for 50 cents"

So when I hear someone tell me thay cannot find any cheap buy's out there I know we have some work to do. Most people try to do a Sell/Buy -Sell an animal and Buy an animal -that would only happen if we were bartering.
Try this thinking and language :

When I Sell an Overpriced Animal I Buy Money - I can now take that money and Sell Money and Buy an Underpriced animal.
When I Sell an animal I just bought Grass - when I buy an animal I just Sold Grass.

KLR Marketing is about Value - the tools and thinking we provide will lead to greater Cashflow and Profit by Selling Overvalued Inventory and Buying Undervalued Inventory.

This is why I am careful about what I read and speak about. When you are reading or watching the news ask yourself "Does this information serve me and my greater good ?" If not do something else.
One way you can help yourself is to create a Mastermind or support group to keep your thinking straight. Tomorrow I will post more on how to do this.

GRATITUDE - BEING GRATEFUL FOR THE SIMPLE THINGS !

Keeping with the "Gratitude" theme I thought let's start with the young people in our lives. At times we can be too quick to pass off the joy they bring to our lives just because of the little things which quie often are not caused by them.We fill our lives with work and more work which can be ok if they are involved but if you are like me, quite often on the road the last few years, time passes by and can miss the growing up years.
The pressures from our work or the weather or other things are a distraction from what is important - giving Gratitude for what "IS" and teaching your children to be thankful for every opportunity to work and play and laugh.
Ponder your life and be grateful for your children as you watch this little video :

DID YOU MAKE SOMEONE FEEL IMPORTANT TODAY ?

Do you get up in the morning looking for someone to share your problems with or do you look for someone who you can leave feeling better about themselves.

Gratitude is something we all should consider every morning when we wake up.

Even when things don't go the way I planned I am grateful for the lesson I am getting.

Another computter crash prevented last nights blog but hey I was grateful I could have another glass of red and relax for a change.

Tomorrow I will let you know about someone who is creating 100 days of gratitude - in the meantime Mac Anderson sent me this today and a link to a short movie.

Mac AndersonFounder, Simple Truths :

Mary Kay Ash was loved by her people. She was the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, and passed away recently at 83 years old. I heard her speak about 20 years ago, and at the end of her speech she was asked,

"What is the key to success in business?"

She didn't hesitate when she said,

"Make your people feel important."

She truly understand that recognition is a need we all crave; and that there are no exceptions.

Marcy Blochowiak understands this powerful principal as much as any leader I've ever met. And, most importantly, it comes from her heart. She has built a team of thousands by using a secret weapon:

"Hire more women, and love them like family."
If you need a "shot of inspiration", just watch this beautiful 3 minute movie that shares some of Marcy's secretes to success. You'll love the music, the beautiful photographs and, the ideas will speak to your heart.
And feel free to forward it to friends and family; everyone needs a little shot of inspiration!
